Caddo Lake
A Land That Time Forgot!
The stillness of the water and the elegance of the Spanish moss draped over the cypress trees that rise from the waters creating a maze of tunnels and passes, filled with a treasure trove of bayous around every turn creates a feeling of tranquility and amazement. I don’t usually get lost for words and only a few places have ever done this to me, the drive through Sedona, the hoodos of Bryce Canyon and the beams of light penetrating through the misty trees of Redwood National Forest, Caddo Lake left me stunned with the wonder of how this natural wonder is probably the worlds best kept secret.
This really is the land that time forgot!
Situated on the border of East Texas and Lousiana over shadowed by the ‘Great Lakes’ of central North America, Caddo Lake is a mear 25,400 acres of lake and home to the largest forest of Cypress trees in the world.
